We have here on offer, a Japan 1800's Shogunate Cast Coinage 100 Mon coin.
Made of aged bronze, the vertical inscriptions indicates "Ten-Ho (Tempo) Tsu-Ho" (obv), and "To Hyaku" (Value 100).
The edge is smooth with a validation mark at the right and left. Overall shape is Oval.
The coinage is casted typically at Edo (ancient city name for Tokyo), during the Shogunate era, Japan. (Samurai Period.)
This is a rather beautiful, rare coinage of unique shape, with a large centre square hole.
The item will look better in hand, circulated condition, 48x32mm in size. It is a rather attractive coin of over 200+ years of age, and will be a great talking piece with fellow collectors.
