"The Francasie Indochine Piastres was typically struck weakly at the mint, and it is expected the vast majority has typically worn reliefs at its highest areas (example the face of liberty and her robes).

Those that are distinctive reliefs still present and limited circulation state commands tremendously high premiums in the numismatic communities.

In earlier years, the Piastre (1885-1895) are made & marked at 27.215 grams, of far fewer mintages than those of latter years (1895-1928) which are made & marked at 27.0 grams. The same seated Liberty was the design.

In 1931 marked the last year where the Piastre is made out of Silver, and that single year, a new design of Laureate bust (French maiden - Marianne) was used in placed of the Seated Liberty."
