- About the Engraver: Franco Annoni: - Franco Annoni (1924-1992) was a famous Swiss Graphic artist, designer, painter, illustrator, engraver & sculptor.
After two years of training at the Lucerne School of Applied Arts and a four-year apprenticeship as a stone sculptor, Franco Annoni became an employee of Marino Marini in Milan in 1949, where he also attended the Brera Academy. Afterwards Franco Annoni followed the 1950 Grand Chaumière Paris and in 1951 he became assistant at the sculptor's class, again at the Brera Academy in Milan.
In 1952 he completed his training at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From 1974-1984 he taught as professor for plastic design at the Kunstgewerbeschule St.Gallen.
Exhibitions with Hans Potthof and Rolf Brem at the Museum of Art Lucerne.
Awards and scholarships: 1953 Swiss Confederation. Scholarship of the Kiefer Hablitzel Foundation, 1955 Recognition award of the city of Lucerne, 1956 Swiss Federal Scholarship, 1970 Art Prize of the city of Lucerne. Numerous exhibitions in Switzerland, and abroad.
